Community Outreach MinistryCan you imagine how discouraging it would be to lie in a hospital bed day after day? Can you feel the loneliness of an elderly person who is confined to his or her home or to a nursing home? Can you sense the disappointment of a widow orsingle mother who cannot afford car repairs? Can you see the sad look of hunger on the faces of a family who does not have food?
Community Outreach ministry is committed to providing practical resources for single mothers, widows, the elderly, and the underprivileged in our community. We minister love, encouragement, tangible support, and the hope of Jesus Christ through our outreach.
Car Care Ministry provides minor car repairs and car check ups for widows and single mothers. You can make an appointment to come in on Car Care Day and we will help keep your car in good condition.
Lord’s Pantry provides food for the hungry. You may visit our pantry once a month and receive a free bag of groceries, as well as desserts and bread items. The Lord’s Pantry is a community outreach that is open on Fridays from 9:00 a.m.–12 noon.
Nursing Home, Hospital, Shut In, and Homecare ministries serve the elderly, lonely, and sick to offer hope and encouragement. Volunteers are available to call, visit, and pray with individuals who are unable to attend regular church services.
We Need:
* Food Donations - The Lord's pantry is currently in need of tuna and canned fruit. Food bins are located in the East and West Foyer's of the church. The Lord's Pantry is an outreach ministry which distributes over 300 food bags each month to individuals throughout the community.
* Bread & 2nd Harvest Food Bank Drivers - If you have a van or pickup truck and want to help, the Lord's Pantry is looking for some husband/wife or two men teams to help pickup bread and go to 2nd Harvest Food Bank to pick up food that will be distributed in the pantry. You would be asked to make a once a month commitment to help.
* Friday Morning Volunteers - Volunteers are needed to work one Friday a month from 9a-12n. Individuals that would like to work as greeters, computer workers or food distributors are needed.
