WSF is partnering with Cover the City Project the month of October to collect as many blankets as we can for the city of Winston Salem. Any lightly used blankets will be dropped off at Cleaner World for cleaning. By December 1st the blankets will be distributed to the police department and the non-profits in our area that support the under-resourced. Please drop off your blankets in the West Foyer.

This is a special time for families to gather as parents dedicate their child to the Lord. One of our pastors will pray over your child and present you with a certificate of dedication and a special gift for the baby. Angel Tree is a program of Prison Fellowship that serves incarcerated parents by providing a way to strengthen and restore relationships with their children and families. WSF started supporting this ministry in 2001, and at this point 18 years later you have served over 2000 children by buying gifts for them in place of their parent who is not able. Please stop by the West Foyer November 10th or 17th and select the child you would like to bless this year. All gifts should be brought back to the church by Sunday December 8th. WSF partners with the City Lights Ministry to support and help the under-resourced children of our city. This year we will be buying Christmas gifts for some of the children who work with Melanie Bell through the weekly City Lights ministry. Gift tags can be selected from the Angel Tree in West Foyer on November 17th and 24th. All gifts for City Light’s children should be dropped off under the Christmas Tree in the West Foyer by Sunday, December 8th.
For the month of November, WSF secures the names of families in our community that are under-resourced, and we provide 250 Thanksgiving meal boxes. On Sunday, November 24, our WSF families help deliver the boxes to the families in our community. The contact is personal, and it gives us an opportunity to pray for these families receiving the boxes.

Families are encouraged to come and prepare the boxes for distribution on Saturday, November 23 at 10am in the West Foyer.
Christmas for the City Gift Mart is a Love Out Loud sponsored event that serves the communities of our city, one family at a time. Gift Mart provides an opportunity for parents to purchase new and like new holiday gifts and toys for their children (including ages tween and teens) at greatly reduced prices. The fees charged serve to empower the families and are used to purchase additional gift items. Families who shop at Gift Mart are referred to us through the non-profits with whom they partner throughout the year. This year the Christmas for the City Gift Mart will be held on Saturday, December 14th at the Benton Convention Center. How can you help? By donating a toy/gift or volunteering your time! All gifts should be dropped off in the West Foyer at the church no later than Sunday, December 8.
Every year Love Out Loud, throws a huge Christmas Party for the City of Winston Salem. WSF members are encouraged to go and volunteer with 100’s of other churches and non-profits in our city to be the hands and feet of Jesus. If your family is homeschooled, consider joining Cultivate on this upcoming field trip! Take a journey into North Carolina’s past with costumed interpreters demonstrating life in the 18th century backcountry. Students will observe a variety of colonial demonstrations including toys and games, blacksmithing, cooking, colonial militia and much more!

WSF volunteers are invited to help with the Brownsboro Block Party on August 24. The setup is at 5 PM at the Colony Apartments on Brownsboro Road. This block party will touch the families by providing food, games, and ministry.

VBS is open for students entering preschool (3 years old and fully potty trained) through fifth grade. It is being held at the church every day from Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26. The event runs from 9:00 am- 12:00 pm each day. We are in need of many volunteers for this event as well, please contact Ashlyn Seward at email@example.com if you are able to serve for this event. HopeCity is partnering with The Burn Winston-Salem to offer a night or worship with Sean Feucht on May 11, 2019 at 6 p.m. Sean is a Bethel Music artist & founder of the grassroots global worship & prayer movement Burn 24-7. In addition to leading a time or worship, Sean will be speaking and sharing a 50 minute film called Heart and Hands: Iraq. Due to limited seating, a free ticket must be acquired prior to the event. Whitewater Center Day Trip sponsored by the Men’s Ministry is on Saturday, May 4.
Location: US National Whitewater Center, Charlotte, NC
Cost: $60 (includes multiple activities, excludes lunch) Participants will depart Saturday morning via carpool and return Saturday evening.
